Some of the apps below are our favorites for helping small sales teams put up huge numbers. These tools, apps, and helpful resources will aid you during the prospecting stage or prospecting pipeline.


Charlie App

Charlie combs through hundreds of sources and automatically sends you a one-pager on everyone you’re going to meet with before you see them. I like how this app keeps me connected and helps me gain insights on the people I meet with. It provides me relevant information about the prospect, their company, and their accomplishments. It is an intelligent approach to scheduling, as it integrates with my google calendar and sends me daily updates/briefings.

Hubspot CRM / Sidekick

Rapportive App

Rapportive shows you everything about your contacts right inside your inbox. It is a Gmail plugin that shows you the latest social network updates from whoever you’re corresponding with. You’ll get so used to seeing the Rapportive window next to my emails that I sometimes forget that it’s not a default part of Gmail. You can immediately see what people look like, where they’re based, and what they do. You can establish rapport by mentioning shared interests.

Saleshandy

Saleshandy interprets the engagement level of prospects and helps inside sales teams close deals faster. At its most basic level, Saleshandy is a suite of powerful tools for Document tracking, email tracking, mail merge, and automatically follows up. It is a high-level sales enablement/engagement tool to increase productivity.

Do you struggle with not knowing what happens to your emails after you hit send? Well, stop worrying because although that struggle is REAL, you are not alone! A bunch of nerds figured out how to get rid of this fear and we couldn’t be happier. Add email tracking, attachment tracking, email scheduling, and templates to ANY of your daily emails. Bananatag is a salesman’s best friend (as long as they don’t already have a full-service platform that doesn’t offer these features).

Help A Reporter Out (HARO)

Help A Reporter Out, a.k.a “HARO,” provides journalists with a robust database of sources for upcoming stories and daily opportunities for sources to secure valuable media coverage. In plain English? Enter their newsletter and get emailed every day with a list of article topics from different publications that are looking for quotes/interviews. It is a great way to start to build both your personal brand (if prospects research you) and your companies (by establishing your company as a thought leader).

BuiltWith

BuiltWith is one of the more straightforward websites and may not be helpful for EVERYONE. To put it simply – find out what websites are built with. Build lists of websites from their database of close to 20k web technologies and over 250,000,000 websites showing which sites use shopping carts, analytics, hosting and much more. Filter by location, traffic, vertical and more! Make your sales team more intelligent with this easy to use app!

Calendly

“Say goodbye to the phone and email tag for finding the perfect meeting time!” It is hard to beat that description (from the Calendly website). It’s 100% FREE, super to easy to use, and integrates with most calendar apps. We use it internally on all of our cold email programs and have seen tremendous results with very few hiccups.

Grammerly

Grammarly boasts that it is the “world’s most accurate online grammar checker that is completely free!” While we don’t know if that is 100% true, we do know that the app is at least 100% effective. It is a great online proofreading tool that checks the text for grammar, punctuation, and style. It features a contextual spelling checker and plagiarism detector, all from a chrome extension so it can be used on multiple mediums! This is perfect for one-off emails, making a great first impression, or maintaining your image as a “thought leader.”
